Jamie’s review
I forced myself to finish this because it was a book club book and I had heard the twist at the end was worth it. It wasn't 😂
It's a no for me, dawg. Unfortunately.

By:Freida McFadden
The Housemaid by Freida McFadden follows Millie Calloway, an ex-convict desperate for work after prison, who lands a live-in housekeeping job with the wealthy Winchester family in their sprawling Long Island mansion. Assigned to an attic room with a door that locks only from the outside and facing erratic demands from flighty wife Nina, charming husband Andrew, and spoiled daughter Cecelia, Millie uncovers unsettling family tensions and warnings from the groundskeeper. As her role blurs into dangerous intimacy and bizarre events escalate, the thriller probes deception, power imbalances, and survival instincts in a gilded cage without revealing its shocking reversals.

Jamie's crazy. 😂 And/or I'm an easy critic. Probably the latter. Maybe both. I don't know, this book shocked the shit out of me. I wasn't reading a ton when I read this and I don't do a ton of psychological thrillers so this really got me. I can understand how this can come off cheesy but this worked for me and I couldn't put it down. I did try to read The Housemaid's Secret and shockingly DNFd - which is probably the only book I've ever DNFd….
