By:Ali Hazelwood
Two Can Play is a quick, cozy enemies-to-lovers novella about Viola, a passionate video game designer who lands her dream project—only to discover she has to co-lead it with Jesse, the rival developer she’s convinced can’t stand her. Forced to collaborate on a beloved book-to-game adaptation during a snowy team retreat, their long-running tension and awkward history start to look a lot like mutual pining once they’re stuck in close quarters. As the snow piles up and the work pressure rises, their banter turns increasingly flirty, and Viola begins to realize that Jesse’s cold shoulder might actually be hiding years of quietly, hopelessly inconvenient feelings for her.
